LEARNING ACTIVITY 1

Look up the following English Definitions in Wordreference.com and write them in a blog post:

1. Job: It is an activity that requires a person ́s mental of physical effort.

2. Training: the condition of having been trained, with reference to how well or badly one has been trained

3. Profession: an occupation requiring a great deal of education or specialized training.

4. Employment: work or business; occupation

5. Part-time job: working or attending school on less than a full-time schedule

6. Full-time job: working or operating the customary number of hours in each day, week, or month:

7. Continuing education: a program of courses for adults offered by a high school, college, or other institution.

8. Dignity: appearance and conduct that indicate self-respect and formality

9. Self-worth: the sense of one's own value or worth as a person; self-esteem;
self-respect.
10. Deserve: to merit, be worthy of, or have a claim to (reward, etc.) because of actions, qualities, or circumstances

LEARNING ACTIVITY 2

Look at the pictures and recognize the jobs and professions. Are some of them familiar to you?
Look them up in the dictionary and write the English definition on a Blog Post.

1- Line supervisor: Line supervisors are responsible for supervising the employees' immediate work on the line, schedules and quality control.

2- Housekeeper: a person employed to manage a household

3- Bricklayer: a person whose job is to build walls, houses, and other structures with bricks.

4- Factory Worker: an employee who performs manual or industrial labor.

5- Baker: a person who makes bread and cakes, especially as a trade.

6- Stock cierk: a worker in a stockroom who is in charge of the materials and goods stored there.

7- Bellboy:  a person in a hotel employed to carry suitcases, open doors, etc. for guests.

8- Cashier: a person handling payments and receipts in a store, bank, or other business.

9- Packer: a person or machine that packs something, especially someone who prepares and packs food for transportation and sale.

10- Front Desk Executive: is a person who works in a company's front office, overseeing a variety of tasks or managing staff. A receptionist is a person who is employed to answer the telephone, attend to guests, clients, etc.

11- Architect: a person who designs buildings and in many cases also supervises their construction.

12- Waiter-Waitress:  is a person who serves your table at a restaurant. A man who takes your order and brings you drinks and food at a restaurant is an example of a waiter.

13- Secretary: a person employed by an individual or in an office to assist with correspondence, keep records, make appointments, and carry out similar tasks.

14- Surgeon: a medical practitioner qualified to practice surgery.

15- Manager:  An individual who is in charge of a certain group of tasks, or a certain subset of a company.

16- Teacher: a person who teaches, especially in a school.

17- Nurse: a person skilled or trained in caring for sick or injured people.

18- Engineer: a person who designs, builds, or maintains engines, machines, or public works.

19- Electronic engineer:  a branch of engineering that deals with the design, fabrication, and operation of circuits, electronic devices, and systems.

20- Doctor:  a person with a medical degree whose job is to treat people who are ill or hurt.

21- Accountant: a person whose job is to keep or inspect financial accounts.

22- Dishwasher: a person employed to wash dishes.

23- Laboratory Technician: skilled workers that work with complex systems or perform highly technical mechanical or diagnostic tests in medical or scientific laboratories

24- Chef: cook, especially in a restaurant or hotel, usually responsible for planning menus, ordering foodstuffs, overseeing food preparation

25- Farmer:  a person who owns or manages a farm.

26- Contruction Worker: is a tradesperson, laborer, or professional employed in the physical construction of the built environment and its infrastructure.

27- Rancher: is someone who owns or manages a large farm , especially one used for raising.

28- Craftsman:  still know the ritual, economic, political and environmental restrictions that were traditionally applied to certain of these valuable raw materials.
